About Keeping It Wild

Keeping It Wild was created by Shay Williamson and Abby Williamson.
Born from their love of the bush, hunting, and sharing and a desire to share the simplistic ways you can hunt and gather your own food. 

Shay and Abby both grew up in the bay of plenty, and as teenagers meet in the kaweka ranges. Soon after fishing date that failed to yield any fish, turned into living in the bush trapping possums together and eventually the idea of keeping it wild was born. 

What started as a fun way to share their adventures, quickly turned into a hub for people all around the globe to learn more about how to hunt - survive - eat possum's and thrive. 

With three girls now in tow, the way Shay and Abby enjoy the bush has changed, but the passion to pass down knowledge has grown. 

To celebrate keeping it wild, together they have created something for all of the possum loving, wild food foraging, campfire crew.
